CHEMISTRY RESEARCH CENTRE

The Department of Chemistry was recognized as a Research Centre by Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli for pursuing research in Chemistry in April 2007.  Dr. P. Subramaniam is serving as the head of the research centre. He is a recognized guide approved by Manonmaniam Sundaranar University. At present, nine scholars are pursuing their Ph.D. degree in various fields under his guidance in the Research Centre of Aditanar College.

Objectives of the Research Centre

  • To stimulate academic environment for promotion of quality research.
  • To establish synergistic collaboration with national and international organizations.
  • To compete with the scholars of the national and international community.
  • To create awareness of the latest developments in the field of chemistry.

Features of the Research Centre

  • The research centre is networked with broad-band internet round the clock and  INFLIBNET network of UGC can be accessed
  • There is an air-conditioned analytical instrumentation room equipped with sophisticated UV-Visible spectrophotometer
  • One major research project funded by UGC is in progress
  • Three minor research projects have been completed
  • Twelve research papers have been published in leading national and international journals since 2010.  Three research papers have been presented in International seminars. Twenty one research papers have been presented in National level conferences.

Details about the Research Projects

The research activities of the centre are assisted by various agencies like UGC, Madurai Kamaraj University and the Management of Aditanar College. The funded projects of Dr. P. Subramaniam are:
